After all there’s only one more sleep ’til Christmas…

Although many bloggers have been writing about Christmas for many weeks now, it’s taken me much longer than usual to get into the Christmas spirit. In part I blame work as there’s nothing less festive than being stuck in a rather uncheery office all hours of the day and night. I’m still not sure I’m really there yet but I’m sure that tomorrow when my family come together to exchange gifts, eat dinner, play games and wear ridiculous Christmas jumpers, I’ll get into the spirit properly. Thankfully Christmas also means a few days without a hospital appointment for my mum, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy once a week and radiotherapy about five times a week, so it’ll be a bit of a break for her.

And so I leave you with this thought from The Grinch:

“What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!” – Dr Seuss

Merry Christmas all, enjoy the day. I hope you’re spending it with someone you love, be they family or friends.

  • Merry Christmas!

  • Have a wonderful Christmas! 🙂 xx

  • That’s such a brilliant quote and definitely Christmas should mean more about spending time with loved ones rather than panicking about what to buy everyone at the shops in December. Have a lovely Christmas with your family xx

  • Hope you had a lovely Christmas and got into the festive spirit today! I also hope your mum gets well soon, my boyfriend works every Christmas in an oncological hospital so my thoughts are always with people in that situation at this time of year. Hope you all have a wonderful day! xxxx

  • Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I was well in the Christmas spirit in November but as December approached the novelty had warn off. I think it had something to do with the weather not being that cold, certainly making up for it now we have about 6 inches of snow. Hope you have a wonderful new year Lucy x

  • Thank you for the lovely wishes all. I hope you’ve all had wonderful Christmasses and have good plans for seeing in the new year.
