Borough Market lies just across the bridge from my office and so while I avoid it on a busy weekend, I do get to visit sometimes at lunch mid-week when it’s often a little quieter.
Borough Market is one of London’s oldest markets and has a long history of food dating back to the 13th century. It’s a food mecca for anyone seeking fresh produce – meat, cheese, bread, fruit and veg. They all sit happily side by side with restaurants and street food traders.
This isn’t a particularly revolutionary post, partly because there isn’t really a new perspective on Borough Market to offer, particle because I’m in the middle of revising for an exam. So this is a little photo post to keep things ticking over a bit until after the 15th May when everything goes back to normal.
Borough Market is located only moments from London Bridge Station in Southwark and is open for lunch on a Monday and Tuesday and the full market is open Wednesday to Saturday (full details on opening times here).
