Borough Market: A photo post

Borough Market lies just across the bridge from my office and so while I avoid it on a busy weekend, I do get to visit sometimes at lunch mid-week when it’s often a little quieter.

Borough Market is one of London’s oldest markets and has a long history of food dating back to the 13th century. It’s a food mecca for anyone seeking fresh produce – meat, cheese, bread, fruit and veg. They all sit happily side by side with restaurants and street food traders.

This isn’t a particularly revolutionary post, partly because there isn’t really a new perspective on Borough Market to offer, particle because I’m in the middle of revising for an exam. So this is a little photo post to keep things ticking over a bit until after the 15th May when everything goes back to normal.

Borough Market is located only moments from London Bridge Station in Southwark and is open for lunch on a Monday and Tuesday and the full market is open Wednesday to Saturday (full details on opening times here).

  • I keep meaning to go to Borough Market – it looks incredible, but somehow I always seem to end up doing something else! I will when I next have a free afternoon! Good luck!

This market is so cute! I see italian cheese like pecorino and others (I’m italian and I love any sort of markets). This place is really amazing!

  • Gorgeous photos! The first one especially captures the wonder I felt when I first visited Borough Market with my class on a cold winter day – we sipped mulled wine, ate cheese, and sketched all sorts of things while I eyed up the largest, pinkest meringue I ever did see! Thanks for the trip down memory lane xx

  • I’ll always love Borough Market no matter how touristy it gets – the produce is just so good! I could definitely go for one of those juicy-looking beef tomatoes in a salad this evening. Beautiful photos as usual, and I hope you’re enjoying the return to exam-free life! Congrats! xx
